Music in the Park (MIP) is Skykomish’s annual summer celebration of community, creativity, and great live music in the heart of the Cascades. Held each August in the town’s riverside ballpark, this one-day event brings together residents, visitors, and musicians for a full day of entertainment under the open sky.
Founded over 15 years ago, MIP has become a cherished tradition—offering a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere where you can lay out a blanket, enjoy the music, and soak in the mountain views. The lineup features a mix of local favorites and regional talent playing everything from folk and rock to blues, bluegrass, and beyond.
We keep it simple: no vendors, no commercial booths—just good music, good company, and a beautiful place to gather. The Skykomish Food Bank serves up delicious food at the historic cook shack as a fundraiser.
Whether you're a long-time attendee or discovering Skykomish for the first time, MIP invites you to slow down, listen in, and celebrate the joy of live music with neighbors and friends.

Since 2006, Music in the Park (MIP) has brought live music to the Skykomish Valley with the belief that everyone should have access to quality music and arts.
Thanks to generous sponsors and community support, MIP remains a free, family-friendly event welcoming 300–500 attendees each year. Set at the scenic Skykomish Ballpark along the river, it’s a beloved summer tradition where visitors enjoy local bands, food, and the beauty of the mountains—many making a weekend of it.
